Thankful

It’s been a couple months since my last blog post and I still have a lot to share. Before the year runs out, I feel it’s time to take stock and count some of my blessings (there is no way I could count all).

“Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭103:1-2‬ ‭KJV‬

This is my way of saying thanks to God, to my family and my friends. I also hope this gives hope to those still waiting.

– My greatest and most joyful gift – Anike Eden Arikenbi. I am sorry to all those who didn’t make the #1 spot on my list but there was no contest at all. Isn’t it funny how someone could change up your list of favorites in a very short time. Truthfully, I am not really sorry.

– My army of love/prayer warriors. God blessed me with these women who stood by me, prayed for me and helped carry the “burden” along the way. It’s easy to be a friend when things are fun. It’s very difficult to REMAIN a true friend when things are rough and consistently bumpy (like injecting my bumbum bumpy sometimes). I love you all so much. The picture below is missing a few folks including my sister and mom. You all know what I am talking about.

– My mother. Behind all this was a prayerful mother. She stood and still stands in the gap day in and out. My mom also taught me how to function when I barely knew what to do as a new mom. Now I know why I am the way I am. Finally, she volunteered to help care for Anike for 6 months. Her presence gave me so much peace when I returned to work. Now that deserves the best abuela award.

– Kind and skilled doctors. Dr Kristin Brigger @ the Complete Women’s Care Center and Dr. Mazen Abdullah at the Houston Fertility Institute. In addition to being badass doctors, they encouraged me through some tough times.

I have had days when I’ve asked God why this or why that but when I consider it all, the good and seemingly bad things, I have learned how incredibly blessed I am. I am grateful for the journey so far and excited for future.

God bless you all and may he grant you the desires of your hearts the rest of this year and in 2017.
